School
For a school to be able to cope properly with a latex allergy child, the teachers and staff need to be forewarned. Before your child's first day at school, it is important that all teachers know how to handle any situation arising if that child comes into contact with natural rubber latex. Ideally every teacher and carer (e.g. in primary school music, art, and PE teachers and in secondary school every class teacher) should carry with them an epinephrine kit and the knowledge of how to use it should the need arise. If you are a member there is a free download of information for schools available in the member's area.
There should also be a protocol in place for summoning the appropriate medical help e.g. school nurse and ambulance.
